EarlyON Child and Family Centres are free, high-quality programs for families with children from birth to six years old. They are welcoming spaces where parents, caregivers, and children can play, learn, and connect.

Families can take part in a wide range of play-based activities such as storytelling, music, creative play, and outdoor exploration while building relationships with qualified early childhood professionals who are available for conversation, guidance, and support.

EarlyON centres are designed to help families feel supported, informed, and connected during their child’s earliest years. These early experiences, shared meals, play, conversation, and community help build strong foundations for children’s lifelong learning and well-being.

Who Can Attend?

EarlyON programs are open to all families in Ontario. Child Care Algoma offers a mix of drop-in, registration and community outreach programs, making it easier for families to participate in ways that fit their schedules.

At an EarlyON centre, families can:

• Join fun, developmentally rich activities like reading, sing-alongs, games, and hands-on exploration
• Connect with Registered Early Childhood Educators and other trained professionals for child development information and everyday parenting support
• Meet other families and build a sense of community and belonging
• Access developmental screening as a part of Nurturing Algoma,
• Learn about local services and resources, including health, early learning, and community supports
