- Home MUST be smoke free
- ALL family members must have up-to-date immunizations
- ALL pets must have their rabies vaccines
- Standard First Aid Level C CPR & AED (incl. infant/child)
- House insurance which covers the home-based business
- Child restraint information session and vehicle insurance which covers children in care (if transporting)
- Must adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act regulations
- Compliance with fire and health inspections
- A three-step approval process prior to being an Approved Home Child Care Provider
- Follow the Ministry of Education professional resources to plan a curriculum based on the individual needs and development of each child in care

Home Child Care Consultants are Registered Early Childhood Educators with over 40 years of experience combined. Once the approval process is complete, we assist and monitor the approved caregivers in meeting high standards in quality care.
Our Child Care Algoma Home Child Care Consultants provide:
- scheduled and drop-in home visits
- telephone support
- child care related workshops/professional development
- transportation/car seat installation workshops
- free use of large equipment such as strollers, cots and feeding chairs (based on availability)
- early learning resources and mentorship
