Childcare Algoma

Trained leaders at the EarlyON Child and Family Centres guide the Family Math interactive sessions, where parents and their children are actively involved in activities that reinforce skills and the understanding of math concepts, to enhance children’s success upon entry into kindergarten.

Based on extensive research and practice in the area of emergent literacy, trained leaders in the Family Literacy In Action program supports families in developing early literacy skills with their young child. Each session focuses on a different aspect of early childhood literacy development and features story time, action rhymes, songs and finger plays aimed at developing oral language skills along with engaging child-focused activities.

During the Backpack Adventures program, parents and children explore the 5 domains of school readiness.  Families discover new information and activities to support their child’s journey into school.  Each session introduces a new domain and families get to borrow a backpack full of fun activities to practice each new skill at home.
